COVID-19 UPDATE: Due to COVID-19, we have moved to a temporary "curbside" protocol. If you have an appointment, please give us a call from your vehicle and we will send a technician out to you. If you are picking up food or medication, we will deliver them to your car.

We are currently scheduling routine care roughly 4-6 weeks out in an effort to make room for emergencies and/or sick patients. Boarding and grooming has been closed until 4/30/20, or further notice, as we are following the government recommendations to keep only the essential portion of our business operating.

We sincerely thank you for your support and cooperation.

Our Staff

Dr. Tom Schuld, DVM

I’m Dr. Tom Schuld and I joined the Tender Touch team in March, 2018. My journey here, however, has had a number of twists and turns along the way.

After earning my MBA at the University of Minnesota and spending 13 years in the corporate world, I decided to pursue my passion by returning to the U of MN where I completed my veterinary training in 2002. After graduation, I worked in small animal practices in the Minneapolis area for fifteen years before succumbing to the call of the ocean and moving to Maine. My special veterinary interests include general medicine, dentistry and surgery, but what I really enjoy is getting to know my patients and the people who love them so much.

I also try to give some payback to the profession I hold so dear. In 2013, I traveled to Ecuador on a volunteer spay/neuter project with WorldVets. It was there that I met a little street dog who cuddled up beside me and quickly won my heart. That little dog, now named Chula, resides with me, my wife Sandra, a very sassy calico cat named Annabelle, a very shy yellow Lab named Samantha, and an orange tabby named Cecil the Lionheart who has become my shadow.

When not at the hospital, I enjoy spending time with Sandra at our home in Biddeford and exploring all the things Maine has to offer that are so new and exciting to us. I also enjoy doing volunteer work, home renovation, cooking, baking, biking, fishing or basically any outdoor activity.

Renee Phillips

I graduated from Stratham NH Community Technical College (Now Great Bay Community College) and got my Associates degree in Veterinary Technology in 2007. I have been working in the Veterinary field ever since and continuing to learn and grow every year. Working with animals has always been my passion since a child and I couldn't picture myself doing anything else. In 2013 I earned my Degree in Animal Behavior and have enjoyed working with the many dogs in need. I also work with several rescue groups fostering and helping to evaluate dogs for their new homes or with adjusting in their new homes after adoption. I officially earned my Degree in Grooming in 2014.

Megan Dyer

I have been working at Tender Touch since late 2016. Before joining the Tender Touch staff, I worked as a CNA. My true passion has always been animals and helping them. Most days I am working in our kennels, but you may also see me in reception. I will be applying for a veterinary assisting program this spring. Working at Tender Touch has only made my love of animals grow and I even adopted one of our cats! When I am not at work I love to spend time with my family and friends, read and of course snuggling with my jersey wooly rabbit, Leo, and my black cat Gibbs.

Elizabeth Salevsky

My name is Elizabeth, and I've been at Tender Touch for a little over a year now. I am mostly involved with the boarding/kennel area while on the job, but can be found up at reception as well as helping out wherever needed. With a background in mostly hospitality and school in the psychology field, it wasn't until I had rescued a puppy that I had fallen in love with all there was to offer in the veterinary/animal field and found my true calling. Having worked in boarding facilities previously and always having animals around growing up helped with the decision to work in this field, but there truly isn't anything I could imagine doing besides helping animals. I hope to someday continue my studies/school in the animal field!
